Allergies
Thai food is known for its fresh herbs, rich flavors, and versatility. At Little Thai restaurant, our goal is for everyone to be able to enjoy these taste experiences to the fullest – without worrying about allergies.
Food allergies in Thai cuisine
Thai cuisine traditionally uses ingredients that are common allergens. Here, we explain how we address them and which of our dishes are suitable for you as is or with minor adjustments.
Enjoyable food, safely
We want to share some reassuring news with you: almost all the dishes on our menu can be customized to suit your specific diet. We can omit ingredients or replace them with other raw materials according to your wishes.
Nut allergy
Many people with nut allergies are wary of Thai food, as peanuts are a key ingredient in dishes such as the classic Pad Thai noodle or certain curries.
Naturally suitable dishes: Most clear soups (such as Tom Yum) and many stir-fries, such as Pad Kra Pao, Gratiem, or Yam Kai Zaap.
Customization: We can prepare Pad Thai and your other favorites completely nut-free.
Our kitchen follows strict procedures to avoid cross-contamination, but please always mention your allergy when ordering.
Fish and shellfish allergy
Fish sauce (nam pla) and oyster sauce are staples of Thai cuisine. This can make dining out challenging for those with fish and shellfish allergies. However, fish and oyster sauce are easy to replace with soy sauce, and we also have dishes that do not include either of them. Our staff is happy to help you find a suitable dish and assist with customizations.
Other allergies to consider in Thai food
In addition to nuts and fish, it is good to be aware of the following ingredients in a Thai restaurant:
Gluten (soy sauce, oyster sauce): Many Thai sauces contain wheat in the form of soy sauce. Soy sauce can easily be omitted or replaced with fish sauce. This article tells you more about gluten.
Pork and beef: If you avoid these, you can always choose chicken, prawns, or tofu as the protein for your dish.
Coriander and garlic: Thai food uses a lot of fresh herbs. If you have a hypersensitivity to coriander or garlic, please let us know – we can leave them out of dishes prepared fresh to order.
We are happy to serve you – Feel free to share your wishes!
Your safety and dining pleasure are matters of honor for us. When you arrive at Little Thai restaurant, please mention your allergies or other dietary requirements when placing your order. Our professional staff will be happy to help you choose the right dish and ensure that the kitchen prepares your meal to suit you perfectly.
Welcome to enjoy authentic and safe Thai food!
